Announcing Hartford Fashion Week
A monumental celebration of fashion and culture Hartford Fashion Week (HFW) makes its debut September 28th through October 4th. “Fashioned” after nationally prominent events, Hartford will join other fashion relevant cities such as New York, Miami, Chicago and Palm Springs by presenting a week of interesting and enlightening fashion-related happenings.
The week will start with a Launch Party on Monday at Majorca. During the week nights, several established organizations have agreed to use their existing platforms to celebrate fashion. This will include a panel discussion at the Hartford Public Library on Tuesday, a movie screening at Real Art Ways on Wednesday, and a mini runway show and live costume making at the Wadsworth on Thursday
HFW culminates with three days of fashion shows at Union Station. Friday through Sunday, the Grand Hall will be turned into a professional runway equipped with lights, seating, projector and sound. Each of thirteen apparel designers will have a time slot to showcase their line and latest designs paired with accessories designed and crafted by local artisans.
Numerous sponsors have been enlisted starting with Union Station and the City of Hartford. COLAB, CTFastrak, Humans of Hartford, Artists in Real Time, Breakfast Lunch & Dinner and more have agreed to help with the logistics and marketing. Restaurant locals, Hot Tomatoes, Nix’s and Majorca will provide food for the events and attendees.
